Hello To All
Been backtesting the USD/JPY.
Here is the problem.
If……Bought 1 lot @ 116.85
Bought 1 lot @ 117.70
Bought 1 lot @ 118.55
Bought 1 lot @ 119.40
Then ..Sold 4 lots @ 120.29

Adding all differnces …120.29 – 116.85 = 344
120.29 – 117.70 = 259
120.29 – 118.55 = 174
120.29 – 119.40 = 89
866 pips USD/JPY
What is the USD value?

SINGAPORE: The Singapore dollar touched an all-time high against the US dollar yesterday as some Asian currencies were boosted by a return of risk appetite on better US housing and jobs data, analysts said.

As we expected, the market formed a bottom and bounced nicely along with equity markets. We may see some retracements before the market continues to correct a bit higher. We don’t expect this to last as many risks remain a factor. Most notably, we are concerned with N. and S. Korea’s motives; if things continue to escalate, we could see another big dollar rally for safe haven reasons as the market won’t be able to tolerate much risk. Iran is also in the news as Russia is beginning to side with the west on specific sanctions, leaving Iran with one less ally in the region. We are looking for a 38.2% retracement and a continuation for the majors to gain ground vs. the buck. Still cautious as risks are high of a turnaround. How can I raise finance, say, £10-15k to start my spread betting career with?

I am 18 years old and I have been practicing spread betting in demo accounts for months and I’m quite good at it. I only have a couple of grand to start though, but I think I would need more money to stand a chance at it, say £10-15k. The reason I think having this much would be best is because the demo has this amount as a starting balance. How could I raise finance for it? Could I work, or trade spot-forex for a year as I’m quite good at that to make the moeny I need? Please help/advise. Thanks.

Exit Trading: Trading is a two step process. You have to first buy, and than after a period of time sell. It’s all about getting the cheapest price possible and that isn’t necessarily profitable in currency trading market. You have to always be thinking about the exit price and how much you’ll get in the future. When you start thinking like this, you’ll start to make some real nice money.
Software: The only real disadvantage an individual in the currency market has against a bank is a workforce. A bank has an army of them to work in this 24hr/day market. Hiring a team of workers can get expensive, especially for a new trader starting out, so the best thing you can do is get yourself a software package that can trade independently of yourself.
